You could not pay me to visit Madame Tussauds Wax Museum. The statues creep me out almost as much as clowns. I feel like their eyes follow you and the synthetic hair gives me a serious case of the heebie-jeebies. So it is ironic that for my jewelry I love working with wax.
I have two pieces currently waiting to be cast. What I hope will be a delicate pair of leaf inspired earrings and yet another ring slated to be hammered. I am excited about the earrings because I rarely design items that would be described as dainty. Like chocolate cookies, I like my jewelry somewhat big and chunky. So these are a real departure for me. I cannot wait to see the final product and of course, give them a name.
The ring is nothing more than a plain band at the moment. After it is cast I plan to take my tiny ball peen hammer to it. And if the mood is right I'll hammer it with a lovely mambo or salsa beat.
I'd love to write more but for some reason I am suddenly craving chocolate chip with walnut cookies. I can't imagine why.....
